Exploring the World of Living and Non-Living Things

Exploring the World of Living and Non-Living Things

8th September 2025

In this activity, children were introduced to the concept of living and non-living things in a fun and interactive way. The session began with a short discussion where children shared examples of things they see around them – like pets, plants, toys, and vehicles.

To make learning hands-on, the teacher showed real objects and pictures. The children observed and talked about how living things can breathe, move, grow, and need food and water, while non-living things do not grow or need food.

Engaging games were included, such as sorting objects into two baskets – one for living things and another for non-living things. Storytelling and action songs made the learning even more enjoyable.

Through this activity, children developed their observation skills, critical thinking, and vocabulary. They also learned to appreciate and care for living things in their surroundings.
